Spring Green trustees approve routine licenses, proclamation and assessment contract in brief June 10 meeting

The Village of Spring Green Board of Trustees convened on June 10, 2026, and moved quickly through a short agenda, approving the minutes from May 27 and the night’s agenda before carrying a broad consent agenda of financial items, licenses and permits.

The consent agenda, approved by voice vote on a motion from Trustee Jeannie McCarville and seconded by Trustee Jean‑Claude Bédard, included the financial report, disbursements, coin machine permits for Cardinal AG and River Valley High School, multiple Class A and Class B alcohol licenses for downtown businesses and operator licenses for named individuals. The board also approved a mobile food vending renewal application for Jose’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant.

Trustees then addressed old business: Frank Glynn reported that work to abate property conditions at 433 W. Madison Street has not progressed because of weather and that the house is “half empty.” Village President Robin Reid said the village attorney will attend the next meeting to discuss options and possible agreements; no formal action was taken.

Under new business, the board approved a request from APT for a Sarah Day proclamation on a motion by Trustee Deb Miller, seconded by Trustee Jeannie McCarville. The board also approved a 2027 Maintenance Assessment Contract with Kleven Property Assessment after Trustee Damian Barta moved approval and Trustee Hope Winship seconded.

There were no public comments during the general comment period. Trustee Jean‑Claude Bédard moved to adjourn at 7:11 p.m.; Trustee Deb Miller seconded and the motion carried by voice vote.

The board’s actions on licenses, the proclamation request and the assessment contract were procedural approvals; the village will next consider legal options concerning 433 W. Madison Street with counsel present at a future meeting.
