Robinson Engineering says Robbins has replaced 85 lead service lines, program set to end Dec. 31

Jonathan Flowers of Robinson Engineering presented an update to the Village of Robbins on the village's lead service-line replacement program during the Oct. 24 board meeting. He said the contractor has replaced 85 service lines, visited about 300 homes and expended approximately $1.5 million to date.

Flowers told trustees the program is still taking applications but is scheduled to end Dec. 31. He said any unused grant funds must be returned to the state and provided a contact number for residents with questions.

The report follows the mayor's broader infrastructure update at the meeting, which noted about $1 million in recent street repairs and a newly executed $5 million grant for street lighting and corridor improvements along Claire Blvd., plus $300,000 earmarked for the community center.

Trustees did not take formal action on the lead program at the meeting. The presentation functioned as an informational update so residents could check application status and timing before the program ends.
