Transit staff outline June 4 service changes, aim for higher on-time performance

Transit staff briefed the Athens in Motion Commission on planned service adjustments intended to improve reliability and connectivity. Jeremy Barnett (Transit) and Tina Wu (Transit Planner) said a summer service change will take effect on June 4, with an operational goal that each route achieve 80% or higher on key performance metrics. Staff described the changes as intended to better coordinate with University of Georgia transit services.
Commissioners were also told that UGA will provide service to the Augusta School of Nursing on Barnett Shoals Road as part of that coordination. No route-level schedules or funding changes were recorded in the transcript; staff noted the June 4 effective date for the service change.
