SPRINGFIELD, N.H. — The Board of Selectmen reviewed multiple short‑term rental (STR) applications and compliance matters at its Sept. 23 meeting, including one operator who did not respond to town invitations and others moving through ZBA/Planning review.
Tamara informed the Board that 5 Winding Wood is being operated by an out‑of‑state individual who did not respond to initial town correspondence; a second certified letter was planned for delivery the following day. By contrast, the owner of 30 Winding Wood is working with town staff to follow the STR process.
The Zoning Coordinator listed other pending STR‑related items: Kieth Matte (87 Woodcrest Rd.) has a commercial STR operation with a Special Exception granted by the ZBA and requires Planning Board site plan review; Timothy and Shannah Stone applied for a Special Exception and site plan to run a tent STR at 2513 Route 4A; Robert Costello (178 Meadow Brook Road) had an Airbnb listing and appears to have withdrawn. Several applications require a 34" x 22" minimum plan at a suggested scale and, in some cases, additional materials or signatures.
The Board did not take enforcement votes at the meeting beyond continuing outreach and follow‑up. Town staff will send additional correspondence to nonresponsive STR operators and continue to process complete applications through the ZBA and Planning Board as required.
