District administrators and teachers briefed the School Board of Spring Valley on two curriculum initiatives during the March 25, 2026 meeting.
Ben Lamb, director of special education and pupil services, joined MS/HS special education teacher Rachel Traynor and elementary special education teacher Alexis Driscoll to present an update on the district's implementation of Read 180, a reading intervention curriculum. The presenters summarized the implementation status, classroom rollout and instructional focus (presentation materials and specific classroom metrics were not included in the minutes).
Mandy Stasiek, the district's K–12 financial literacy teacher, provided an update on the Financial Literacy program and how the curriculum is being delivered across grade levels.
Elementary Principal Nicole Lamb reported on elementary activities for Read Across America Week, and Middle/High School Principal Chris Segerstrom highlighted the recent Course and Career Fair at the MS/HS. The minutes do not include direct quotes or detailed outcome measures for either curricular program; board members invited further discussion as needed in committee and at future meetings.
