Park County approves state compliance resolution, code updates and several county contracts

The Park County Board of Commissioners voted 3-0 Tuesday to approve a set of resolutions and county contracts addressing public safety, wildfire risk and county services.
Commissioner Amy Mitchell moved to approve Resolution 2026-31 certifying Park County’s compliance with C.R.S. § 24-33.5-122(3)(A)(III), a step county officials said is required for participation in the state Peace Officer Training and Support Fund; Commissioner Gemmer seconded and the motion passed. The board also adopted parts of the 2021 International Wildland‑Urban Interface Code (Resolution 2026-32) with amendments after a presentation by Andy Grand.
In other business the board approved a professional services agreement with Savio House for human services, authorized a 2027 motor grader purchase agreement with delivery FOB Public Works (with an amendment), and approved a Local Public Health Agencies (LPHA) immunization contract. All motions were made by Commissioner Amy Mitchell, seconded by Commissioner Gemmer and carried unanimously, 3-0.
The actions were presented during the board’s special meeting in Fairplay; documents for the resolutions and contracts were placed on the record. An executive session was convened later in the meeting under C.R.S. § 24-6-402(4)(e) to discuss positions and strategy related to potential negotiations and to instruct negotiators. The meeting adjourned at 4:08 p.m.
