Board approves Winnconne e‑Academy handbook with rolling deadlines, grading conversion explained

The Winneconne Community School District Board of Education approved the Winnconne e‑Academy handbook at its May 4 meeting after administrators answered questions about grading, application deadlines and contract renewal.

Mr. Fish, the district administrator who answered questions about the program, said families "will have up to June 4 to apply, and they'll get a notification showing the exact date here for you, by June 15" and explained that additional rolling deadlines allow families to apply through August with subsequent notification dates. He also described a conversion process from the district’s proficiency system into a traditional A–F GPA via the Keel system and offered to provide the conversion chart to board members.

During discussion, board members confirmed the e‑Academy contract is reviewed annually. The administration said it will circulate the current contract for comparison once the new agreement is available and noted the district expects a possible price increase next year. Following the presentation and Q&A, a motion to approve the Winnconne e‑Academy handbook carried on roll call.

Administrators said they will publish the handbook and application timeline in the district newsletter and on the website. The handbook describes expectations for students and parents, grading conversions, and participation requirements for the district’s e‑Academy program.

Board members and administrators emphasized that ongoing monitoring of student progress will include weekly checks and counselor outreach for students who are struggling.
