Board tables $5.24 million ERP modernization request until council action

The Board of Public Works on June 17 voted to table a $5,242,345 contract request for an enterprise resource planning modernization project after corporation counsel said required appropriations had not been finalized by the city council.
Sergei Grichuk explained the contract covers a 10-year implementation agreement rather than a one-time payment: "The big amount is for 10 years, by the way ... it's not a one time payment. It's spread out over 10 years." He said the council had referred the item to committee and that funding had not yet been appropriated; the board agreed to defer action until committee review and possible return to a future BPW meeting.
Board members moved, seconded and voted unanimously to table the item. Grichuk noted there is a chance the council committee could table the item again.
The board did not take further votes on the ERP scope, vendor selection or schedule during the meeting; staff indicated the item will return to the board after the council and appropriations processes are resolved.
