The Town of Spring Brook Board voted 3–0 on April 21, 2026, to reject a resolution and an ordinance that would have detached a parcel owned by BRUMITE, LLC (doing business as Whispering Emerald Ridge Game Farm) from Spring Brook and attached it to the Town of Red Cedar. The motion to approve the boundary-change documents failed on a roll call with John Schaefer, Jerry Hotchkiss and Mike Hase each voting no.
