Board hears updates on collections, programs and a delayed siding project

At the Oct. 9 meeting, Library Director Vanessa Taylir and staff reported multiple operational and facility updates.
Taylir said Administrative Services Assistant Kayla Claas and Library Aide Stephanie are revamping the CD collection: the collection has been weeded and is being re-cataloged. The library has resumed in-person adult craft programs on a bi-monthly schedule and the revised wireless-printing setup is operating satisfactorily. Staff also replaced a failed amplifier in the speaker system and confirmed the audio system is now functioning.
On facilities, Taylir said the siding color the library selected has been discontinued. The building supervisor will procure a sample of the new color for staff review; the siding work will likely be postponed until the spring. The board expressed disappointment about the delay and requested that Parks & Recreation staff be invited to the next meeting to discuss scheduling and oversight.
