Commissioners set new surety amount for Castle Ridge after surveyor requests larger hold

Staff sought to reduce the surety held for Castle Ridge development; after the county surveyor requested an additional $6,090 for drainage, commissioners voted to set the new surety at $52,694.01 rather than staff's proposed $38,775 reduction or the surveyor's higher total.

County planning and engineering staff (Speaker 5) asked the board to approve a reduction in the letter-of-credit surety for the Castle Ridge development, noting the county currently holds $64,505 for street, sidewalk and drainage guarantees. Staff said the developer requested a reduction to $38,775 but that the county surveyor requested an additional $6,090 for drainage, which would make the revised total $58,784.01.
