Council approves $15,000 allocation breakdown to fund July 4 parade security

The Enumclaw City Council approved Resolution No. 1,881 on June 22 authorizing the mayor to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Chamber of Commerce provision of service agreement to provide additional funds for July 4 parade security.
Parks Director Lina Hicks told the council the resolution would allocate part of a previously approved $15,000: $8,500 for parade barriers, $2,500 to cover overtime for six additional city staff and $4,000 to the Chamber to hire security and event staffing. "The funds have already been authorized by council. This would just kind of break it up, of how we're going to spend it," Hicks said.
A motion to approve the resolution was made and seconded; the council approved the measure by voice vote. The funds will be used for physical barriers along the parade route, overtime compensation and contracted security staffing to support the July 4 festivities.
