Council accepts Yellowstone Computing server proposal and authorizes ARPA funding

Council reviewed two estimates for City Hall and Police Department servers and approved the proposal from Yellowstone Computing with specified adjustments and ARPA funding for the expense.
The two written estimates were: Krista Computers (City Hall server $13,095.75; Police Dept. server $14,433.75) and Yellowstone Computing (City Hall server $8,520; Police Dept. server $18,650). Joe Smoczyk of Yellowstone Computing explained the vendor's view that the expected server life is "5–10 years" and noted the city's current server is about seven years old.
Council voted to accept Yellowstone's proposal with adjustments for Public Works VoIP cabling and Police Department garage coverage and to fund the purchase out of the ARPA fund (M/M/S Korn, Lawcewicz). Motion passed 4–0.
Separately, Alderperson Rosemeyer suggested considering ARPA funds to assist Northside Ballpark improvements; that suggestion will be developed in meetings with local clubs and committees before a future council update.
