Northern Local board accepts broad set of policy updates on first reading
Summary
On first reading the board approved a comprehensive list of policy updates (PO#0100 through PO#7450) including meeting rules, conflict-of-interest policies, grant management and technology acceptable use; the vote was unanimous.
The Northern Local Schools Board approved numerous policy updates on first reading at the Dec. 12 meeting.
The policies approved on first reading include PO#0100 (Definitions); multiple meeting- and officers-related policies (PO#0151 through PO#0173); technology acceptable-use policies for students and staff (PO#7540.03 and PO#7540.04); conflict-of-interest provisions for administration and staff; and several finance- and grant-related policies addressing grant funds, internal controls, cash management and procurement under federal funds.
The motion was moved by Mr. Levi Dupler, seconded by Mrs. Sharon Cains, and carried 3–0. The minutes record the list of policy numbers but do not provide the full text changes in the public minutes; these will appear in the policy packet or administrative files as required for first-reading procedures.
