County reports clean single audit; budget document wins GFOA recognition

Finance staff reported that the county’s single audit of federal awards — roughly $23.5 million this year, with more than half of that from ARPA — has completed field work and staff received a draft with no findings.
"We just found out yesterday we got the draft. There's no findings," the finance staff member said, adding staff will forward the final audit when it is issued.
Staff also announced that the county received a Government Finance Officers Association award for the budget presentation, which staff said recognizes transparency and an accessible format for the public.
"The point of winning the award is for transparency," staff said, noting the budget document was reorganized to make it easier for residents to find specific departmental information and understand county finances. The committee applauded the finance department for the work.
