Mapleton board approves substitutes, tutors, coaches and accepts driver resignation

Under the Superintendent’s consent agenda the Mapleton Local board approved personnel actions on Jan. 13, 2025.
The board approved certified substitutes (Trudy Bates Grandon, Kline, Kaleb Stafford) and classified substitutes, and authorized limited one-year intervention tutor contracts for Maddie Aumend (Mapleton Middle School) and Lilly Nixon (Mapleton Elementary School) effective Jan. 6, 2025, using Title I funding. The board also approved a limited one-year, three-hour-per-day cook contract for Shelly Johnson effective Jan. 6, 2025, and accepted the resignation of bus driver Dennis Rickett effective Jan. 16, 2025.
Pupil activity contracts were approved for JV and varsity coaching positions and volunteer assistant coaches for softball and baseball. Separately, the board approved a limited one-year contract for Baeleigh Benner as an intervention tutor at Mapleton Elementary School (Title I-A funding); the vote recorded ShaNa Benner as abstaining on that hire.
All personnel actions were taken by recorded vote as part of the consent or subsequent itemized motions.
