County approves multiple community grants for workforce, STEM and arts programs

Franklin County commissioners on July 7 approved several community grant agreements and purchasing authorizations supporting workforce, youth STEM and local events.
The board adopted Resolution 47026, authorizing a $60,000 grant to She Imprints to run Emerge (a cohort leadership program for women) and She Leads (professional development for educators and social workers serving girls). Staff said cohorts will serve 15–20 women each and that participants are expected to reach an estimated 540–720 girls through their subsequent work.
Resolution 47126 authorized $25,000 to Link Academy of Columbus to support youth STEM and summer programming serving up to 20 students in hands‑on coding, math and engineering activities. Resolution 47426 approved a $75,000 agreement with Short North Alliance to support 2026 open‑streets events and safety programming in the Short North Arts District; staff described vendor partnerships and visitation figures for the district.
The board also approved routine purchasing resolutions (47626 and 47726) for county agencies; the clerk recorded Commissioner Boyce's noted abstention on Resolution 47726. All grant resolutions were moved, seconded and adopted in the meeting record.
