Plan Commission endorses public participation plan to start Eagle River comprehensive plan update

The City of Eagle River Plan Commission on Feb. 5 recommended that the City Council adopt a Public Participation Plan as part of a required update to the city’s Comprehensive Plan.
Robin Ginner, a city staff member, told commissioners that state law requires comprehensive plans be updated every ten years and that Eagle River’s plan dated 2013–2033 is due for an update. Adam Grassl read aloud the methodology section of the proposed resolution outlining how public participation will be structured during the update.
Commissioners voted to recommend City Council adopt the Public Participation Plan and confirmed that the North Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission will guide the city through the process. The commission noted that the initial meeting with the regional planning commission is scheduled for March 5 at 5 p.m., to be held at a regular Planning Commission meeting.
Motion to recommend adoption was made by John Hletko and seconded by Adam Grassl; the motion carried on a roll call vote with all members present voting in favor. The recommendation now moves to City Council for final action.
