Nunn trustees review 2024 building code updates and 2025 wildfire resiliency code

The Town of Nunn Board of Trustees reviewed proposed updates to the 2024 International Building Code and a draft 2025 Colorado Wild Fire Resiliency Code at a work session on March 19, 2026.
Russ Weber, who presented the building-code updates, said the town’s proposed amendments closely mirror the 2018 local amendments and highlighted an electric-vehicle requirement that would apply to new buildings and to additions larger than 500 square feet. The presenter also noted that modular homes are already equipped for EV hookups under existing state requirements.
Trustees also reviewed the 2025 Colorado Wild Fire Resiliency Code. Board members were told there would be no penalty to the town if it did not adopt that wildfire-resiliency code by the April 1, 2026 date mentioned in the materials, and the board left the item for possible future adoption pending additional review.
The board discussed next steps, including bringing final ordinance language back for more detailed consideration and any local amendments. No formal adoption vote occurred at the March 19 meeting; the item will return when staff and trustees have had time to review draft ordinance language and potential local adjustments.
