DOT&I reports water and road projects; Highway 59 delayed by environmental issue
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure reported progress on water-storage and treatment projects, US-62 sidewalk Phase 2 (contract awarded, notice to proceed July 6), Summerfield Hollow and Bryant Road; the Highway 59 project saw a delay after an endangered-species issue prompted ODOT to postpone work.

Michael Lynn, representing the Cherokee Nation Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, told the committee the department is working on a water storage tank at Flint Ridge for the Southern Delaware County Regional Water Authority and a water treatment plant in Burnt Cabin in Cherokee County. On the transportation side he said Phase 2 of the US-62 sidewalk project was awarded to the same contractor who completed Phase 1, with a notice to proceed issued July 6.
