Developer and contractors, with utility staff, resolve meter-compatibility issue at Brookfield Farms
Representatives for the Brookfield Farms development told the New Castle Board of Works that meters supplied by Newcastle did not fit installed fittings; town utility staff agreed to provide 5/8-inch meters and the parties agreed to use adapters rather than yokes so meters can be set when homes are ready.

On July 6, 2026, the New Castle Board of Works heard from developer and contractor representatives about a water-meter compatibility problem at the Brookfield Farms subdivision. Devin Bieswanger, speaking for the developer, said the meters supplied by Newcastle "didn't directly fit," and sought clarification on how meters are to be set.
