Meriwether County awards courthouse remediation to Penco, approves related change orders

County Administrator John Gorton told the board that staff had solicited three remediation proposals for the courthouse third floor and bell tower after EMC’s assessment identified remediation needs. Trauma Services submitted the lowest monetary bid ($89,926.96) but staff reported the company primarily specializes in biohazard cleanup. ServPro’s estimate was $546,128.18. Penco proposed approximately $136,857.34 for the third floor plus an estimated $25,000–$30,000 for bell-tower work, bringing Penco’s total to about $166,857.34.
