Newfields awards engineering contract to Underwood Engineers

The Newfields Village Water & Sewer District voted on Feb. 11 to award its engineering contract to Underwood Engineers, Inc.
The board opened three proposals from Pare Corporation, Weston & Sampson, and Underwood Engineers and concluded Underwood best matched the district’s requirements. Commissioner Bill Meserve moved to approve Underwood Engineers’ proposal and offer them a contract; George Drinkwater seconded and the motion passed unanimously, 3-0. Treasurer Wendy Chase was directed to send letters notifying all three firms of the decision.
Commissioners also authorized inviting Keith Pratt of Underwood Engineers to the March 2 meeting to discuss amounts for a possible bond hearing notice and related project language.
