The Lake County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of routine resolutions and financial actions at its meeting.
The board approved a change order (No. 2, final) for the Lake County Road Resurfacing Project 2025 with Shelley Company, Inc., reducing the contract by $137,732.05 (LCE project number 2024-009). The board also approved a resolution terminating a cooperative agreement with Madison Township for the North Ridge sanitary sewer extension and later approved a separate resolution rescinding a prior determination to proceed with construction, citing higher-than-expected bids and ARPA timing complications.
Other actions approved by roll call included certifying unpaid water and sewer sums and administrative charges to the Lake County Auditor; appointing Angela R. Schmidt to complete a five-year term on the Lake Metropolitan Housing Authority Board of Commissioners (term ending 11/14/2028); acknowledging Madison Township trustee Joe White’s selection to the 911 program review committee; and reappointing Robert L. Moore to the Lake County Library District Board of Trustees for a seven-year term beginning 03/24/2026.
On finance, the board approved payment of bills listed on the commissioner’s approval journal totaling $1,255,512.84 and approved purchase orders totaling $795,872.70. Each of those financial items was moved, seconded and approved by roll call with no substantive discussion recorded.
The meeting proceeded through these items with routine roll calls (for many items the transcript records Commissioners Plecnik and Beveridge voting yes/aye; Commissioner McIntosh had been excused earlier in the meeting). The transcript does not record detailed vote tallies for each item beyond the named roll-call affirmations.
The board adjourned after hearing departmental reports and community announcements.
