Commission presses for hydraulic model and cost estimate before approving major developments
Members said a full hydraulic model is needed to evaluate large proposed developments and any interbasin-transfer or volume-permit requests; commissioners asked staff to obtain cost and timing information and said developers may need to pay if model findings affect required infrastructure.

Townsend Water Commission members used the master plan discussion on July 13 to emphasize the need for a hydraulic model that would show how large subdivisions and proposed connections would affect system hydraulics and allow staff to test loop connections, tank additions and other changes before permitting development.
