Town authorizes SRF project-evaluation submittals for two wastewater projects

The Mashpee Select Board authorized town staff to submit two Project Evaluation Forms to the Massachusetts Clean Water State Revolving Fund on July 13, signaling the town’s intent to compete for low-interest loans and potential principal forgiveness for two wastewater projects.
Mark Drainville of GHD told the board the two PEFs cover (1) the Mashpee Wakeby watershed wastewater system and (2) the Mashpee/Quashnet (Roquoit) Bay WRRF and collection system phase 3. Drainville described the SRF process as competitive and based on a merit-point system and said the town had been successful on three prior submissions.
A motion to authorize the PEF submittals passed on a voice vote. Drainville noted the projects remain subject to permitting and additional design work; the authorization is for submittal of the PEFs only and does not commit construction funding.
