District Engineer Charlie Krebs presented a revised scope of work for the Seaside & Master Drainage Project, explaining the change will allow operations staff greater flexibility while maintaining the project’s original intent. MRI (presumably the engineer/contractor) expects work to commence within two to three weeks.
Mr. Krebs also presented ancillary irrigation costs from Irrigation Concepts: $4,002.50 to repair damaged wiring and roughly $1,300 each to raise about seven to eight irrigation heads. On motion by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal and seconded by Chair Bob Schultz, the board approved the Irrigation Concepts change order in a not-to-exceed amount of $15,000, with the motion recorded as unanimous.
Staff indicated the drainage project may incur additional ancillary costs; the board authorized the irrigation repairs to proceed and will receive project updates as work begins.
