The Middletown Economic Development Committee voted to approve two lease proposals at the Keating complex during Tuesday’s meeting.
The committee approved a resolution to authorize a 6,600-square-foot lease in Building A for Bridal Cartel to establish retail space and assemble a monthly children’s snack subscription. Committee members said the tenant is already operating at the complex and the retail storefront would expand a locally based business.
The committee also approved a 3,000-square-foot lease in Building C for Star Lizzie Studios, the artist studio and instruction space for Elizabeth Becto. Staff noted Becto has experience as a fine artist and plans to offer classes and on-site work.
Both measures were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote at committee; staff indicated both approvals will follow normal subsequent reviews (planning/finance) before final council action or execution of documents.
