CDD approves irrigation change order and readies Seaside & Master Drainage work

Charlie Krebs, district engineer, updated the River Ridge board on a revised scope for the Seaside & Master Drainage Project, saying the revision will make it easier for staff to modify the system while preserving the project's original intent. MRI expects work to begin within two to three weeks.
Mr. Krebs also presented ancillary irrigation costs: a $4,002.50 charge to repair damaged wiring and roughly $1,300 per head to raise seven to eight irrigation heads. On motion by Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Bob Schultz, the board approved the Irrigation Concepts change order in a not‑to‑exceed amount of $15,000.
The change order authorizes immediate repairs and minor adjustments needed for the drainage project's progress; staff will coordinate scheduling with MRI’s contractor and report completion as part of project updates to the board.
Next steps: MRI to commence main drainage work; operations staff to schedule irrigation repairs within the approved $15,000 cap.
