River Ridge CDD adopts FY2024/25 budget and approves special assessments

The River Ridge Community Development District adopted its fiscal year 2024/25 budget and approved a special assessment roll during a public hearing on Aug. 27, 2024 in Estero.

District Manager Chuck Adams said the budget packet on the agenda contained errors and staff corrected scrivener issues, including the "Street sweeping" description. With no members of the public speaking at the hearing, the Board voted unanimously to adopt Resolution 2024‑07 relating to annual appropriations and to adopt Resolution 2024‑08 imposing special assessments for the 2024/25 fiscal year.

The Board directed a specific edit to Resolution 2024‑08: deleting all references to "Exhibit B" (Page 2 and throughout). Both motions were made by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Supervisor Robert Twombly, and approved "with all in favor." Present for the votes were Supervisors Mountford, Blumenthal, Twombly and Chair Bob Schultz (attending by telephone); Supervisor Gilman was not present.

The adopted budget covers the district’s appropriations for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2024, and the assessment resolution provides for collection and enforcement of special assessments as described in the resolution. The Board also reminded members to complete required ethics training and financial disclosure filings.

The resolutions were adopted as amended; the district will proceed with the administrative steps to finalize the assessment roll and post the adopted budget as required.
