The City of Forks Council on June 22 authorized the Mayor and staff to execute an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Hoh Indian Tribe, contingent on correcting two scrivener's errors in the draft.
During review of the agreement, Council Member Gingell pointed out a reference to "Section 15.2" even though the current draft contains no Section 15. Interim Attorney Archer said that reference is a holdover from a prior draft and that it should refer to Section 13. Archer and other staff indicated the issues were clerical and could be corrected before execution. On a motion by Gingell, seconded by Pearson, the council authorized the Mayor and staff to sign the IGA subject to correction of the two scrivener's errors; minutes record the motion carried.
The minutes do not record further details of the IGA terms in this session. The council's authorization allows staff to finalize the agreement with the Hoh Indian Tribe after the stated drafting corrections are made.
