Representative Myron Dossett told the committee HB565 contains cleanup language from prior legislation meant to clarify fire‑protection officials and include local fire officials explicitly under enforcement and code roles. "It's cleanup language from legislation that we passed last year," Dossett said, and he framed the change as aimed at improving local enforcement of fire codes.
