Middletown panel says Stonegate Apartments making fire‑safety and maintenance fixes

The Middletown mayor’s code enforcement panel was told that Stonegate Apartments has been working with municipal inspectors to address a series of fire‑safety and maintenance items.
A representative of the South Fire District Fire Marshal’s office reported the complex has been "continuing doing their maintenance on extinguishers, emergency lights, and smoke alarms" and said management has been "very receptive to us." The office plans a walkthrough next week to confirm the corrections.
A Health Department representative said the department is also engaged with management and noted an additional tenant complaint about an access ramp that staff member Dennis is addressing with property management. The health official said the department is ‘‘continually working with maintenance and property management to rectify issues.’’
Panel members did not vote on any new enforcement actions at the meeting; staff said they will keep monitoring compliance and follow up as needed. The item will remain on the panel’s tracking list until inspectors confirm full corrections.
