Middletown WPCA reviews cash position, consumption and engineering projects

The board received updates on finances and operations. Staff reported a cash balance of roughly $2.0 million as of September and explained that a large payment from asset work and a shift to quarterly billing have helped improve balances compared with a negative cash position reported in August.
Chief Engineer Brian Robel summarized ongoing engineering projects: a flow meter and ring gauge are collecting data, DOT coordination is ongoing for Route 9/Route 17 signal removals, the Main Street extension water-main and sewer-main work is largely complete and paving is scheduled, and design work is underway for several pump stations (North Main, Johnson Street) with engineering partners noted. Robel said the Red Road pump station is online and that Church Street and Cross Street water-main projects are planned following Main Street work.
Board members thanked staff for thorough reports and asked standard follow-ups on timelines, paving coordination and potential future rate impacts. The board approved consent items (minutes) and closed the meeting after the reports.
