Patrick County supervisors voted to approve a VDOT resolution finalizing the paperwork for a section of Route 58 that was widened and reconfigured.
A VDOT representative told the board the construction—largely completed in 2016—extended three-quarters of a mile into Patrick County and converted a two-lane section to four lanes with an additional 0.05-mile change to a secondary connection. The resolution authorizes the county to submit documentation to VDOT’s central office for recording the changes.
During the meeting the board moved, seconded and recorded aye votes for the resolution. The action completes a paperwork step necessary to align county records with the completed roadway construction; the VDOT representative said the package merely finalizes the changes for official recording rather than authorizing new construction.
The VDOT representative said the county will submit the finalized package to central office for official recording; no additional county appropriation or construction authorization was described at the meeting.
