Bids due June 1 for the Modest Creek Bridge installation returned with zero bidders, Town Manager Rodney Newton told the June 9 council meeting. Newton said he has asked the project engineer to rework aspects of the plan and is coordinating with Public Works Supervisor Kevin Ashworth to have a contractor pour the bridge foundations; the town would then take responsibility for setting the bridge superstructure.
