Dodge County approves emergency service number boundary changes for three fire districts

The Dodge County Board of Commissioners voted Sept. 16 to approve three Emergency Service Number (ESN) boundary changes intended to align dispatch boundaries with mapped service areas.
Commissioner Brian Watkins moved to approve the ESN lines for Fire Station 13 as shown on the county map; Commissioners Sharon Cobb Flanagan and Karen Cheek seconded, and the motion passed with all voting in favor. Later in the meeting, Commissioner Karen Cheek moved to remove Kirkley Road from Milan’s ESN boundary and add it to Chauncey’s ESN; Commissioner Watkins seconded and the board approved the change. The board also approved a motion from Commissioner Watkins to reassign ESN 302, previously assigned to Gresston and Eastman fire departments, back to its original ESN 288 after Commissioner Flanagan seconded.
County staff presented the map-based changes as corrections to dispatch boundaries; commissioners recorded unanimous votes on each motion. No public testimony was recorded related to the ESN adjustments during the meeting. The board took the actions during the regular meeting at the Dodge County Pearl Bates Courthouse Annex.
The motions were recorded as formal votes and carry forward as county dispatch boundary updates; any operational implementation will be handled by Dodge County Fire and dispatch staff.
