Mayor's Code Enforcement Committee hears updates on Stonegate repairs, blight lien

The Mayor's Code Enforcement Committee met Nov. 13 and approved the minutes from its Oct. 9 meeting before hearing departmental updates on several housing and property cases.
The chair opened the meeting at 9:01 a.m. and called for approval of the October minutes; the motion carried unanimously, the transcript records. No members of the public spoke during the public comment period.
A representative of South South Fire reported that the department is continuing to work with the management company at Stonegate Apartments and that repairs are ongoing as new issues arise. "We're continually doing repairs ... and our office is fine with that," the fire representative said.
A health department representative said the department has not received new complaints about Stonegate but noted a recent complaint about intermittent hot water. The health department has asked the property management company to provide a written plan describing how it will proactively remedy the hot-water problem.
On a separate matter, a sanitarian described an attempted inspection of 50 Warwick Street following an odor complaint. Staff were unable to access the interior, observed no odor from outside and reported no observable health violations; the committee removed the item from the agenda pending any new information.
The chair reported no representative from the Department of Land Use was present. The chair said an appeal concerning 455 and 465 Middlefield Street is pending in Superior Court and the committee is awaiting the court process. There were no updates on 52 North Main Street.
The committee was told that a prior blight lien placed on 212 Sisk had been paid but that land use is again citing the property for the same materials; that matter remains in process. An item for 89 Fisher Road was removed from the committee's agenda and returned to land use because of notice issues that staff must correct before it returns.
A motion to adjourn was then called and the committee adjourned at 9:06 a.m.
The meeting covered routine enforcement updates and procedural items; no formal policy changes or enforcement actions were adopted during this session.
