River Ridge supervisor James Gilman resigns; board seeks applicants for Seat 1

Mrs. Cleo Adams presented the resignation letter of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1). On motion by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal and seconded by Supervisor Robert Twombly, the board unanimously accepted Mr. Gilman’s resignation.

Board members discussed next steps to fill the unexpired term. Because the replacement will be an appointment rather than an election, the board directed management to e-blast residents in The Meadows about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements and to ask interested residents to submit a resume or letter of interest before the next meeting. Mrs. Adams said the administration of the oath of office and required ethics training information will be provided in a separate package for any appointee.

The board did not set a specific appointment date during the meeting; staff will include candidate materials on the next meeting agenda for consideration.
