At its July 14 meeting the Middleton Plan Commission recorded the following formal outcomes:
- Bell Farm General Development Plan amendment: Approved. The commission approved staff findings and an amendment to permit active outdoor recreation (a two‑lane lap pool) on four parcels. A Site Improvement Permit (SIP) for pool details will be required before construction.
- Envios Venison Express wall sign (8606 University Green, Unit 5): Approved. Staff recommended approval; commissioners noted the project had been reviewed by License & Ordinance and would be on council agenda next.
- Pet Supplies Plus site plan (3415 Parmenter Street): Approved with contingencies. Contingencies include resolution of engineering staff comments (including an access/site circulation review per the city engineer), forestry review for tree preservation, lighting per the city's outdoor lighting guidance, dumpster screening and façade articulation to be finalized with staff.
- Appointments: The commission recommended Commissioners Kurt Paulson and Shaw to the mayor for appointment to the Middleton‑Westport joint zoning committee for the terms discussed; mayoral appointment is subject to city council approval.
Several items will require follow‑up submittals to planning and engineering staff before final permits are issued.
