At its April 20 meeting the Schuylkill Township Historical Commission discussed conditional-use hearings for 1485 Valley Forge Rd, backing stabilization of an 1834 barn and urging conditions that could preserve an adjacent barnyard wall if it proves contemporaneous.

Michael Gill, commission counsel, updated the Schuylkill Township Historical Commission on recent conditional-use hearings for 1485 Valley Forge Road, where an application initially sought demolition of an 1834 barn and a tenant house. Gill said the applicant amended the proposal after a site visit that revealed a burst pipe and interior flooding in a non-historic section; the applicant removed the barn demolition from the application and now seeks only demolition of the tenant house.
