Superintendent Julie Nielsen gave the board a brief update on district programs and personnel. She said summer targeted services began after July 4, extended school-year services for students who qualify for special education are running, and summer school programs at four elementary schools continue.
Nielsen also introduced Brad Robb as the new principal at Cottage Grove Elementary School and thanked the finance team for work on budget projections. She framed the district’s fiscal situation alongside other metro districts and emphasized ongoing work to reprioritize spending as part of the budget-adjustment process described earlier by the director of business services.
Nielsen closed by noting regional superintendent-mayor meetings she attended and encouraging board members about the community work planned for the coming months. The board then reviewed future meeting dates and adjourned.
