Clerk reports audit schedule, 3% levy certification increase and election preparations

Clerk-Treasurer Alana Paumen presented the Clerk-Treasurer report at the Oct. 1 meeting, reporting several administrative items important to township finances and election administration.
Paumen said preliminary audit information has been entered into the caseware portal and that a box of documents was delivered to the CPA; field work for the audit is scheduled for Nov. 12–15. She reported that proposed levy certification forms had been submitted reflecting a 3% increase for both township funds, consistent with the prior annual meeting approval. Paumen also said election judges are scheduled, including five new judges, and that staff will pick up election equipment and perform testing soon.
Other notices included presentation of the August recycling report and a CenterPoint Energy rate increase notice. These items were presented to the board for information; no additional action was recorded in the minutes beyond acknowledgment.
