Town reports NYSDOT studies, Campbell Road work and sewer installation problems

Staff discussed vendor scheduling and pricing for pavement striping. One staff member reported Oneida County quoted $1,100 per mile for striping while a private vendor presented a lower bid (described in the meeting as about $10,000 less for the overall job), but staff said the vendor’s schedule has been slow and may delay completion.
The chair reported water and sewer work issues: "The 8 inch water main, the 600 feet of it has been put to the correct depth," he said, then added that approximately 400 feet of a newly drilled sewer line is not deep enough and may require rework or re-drilling, raising concerns about schedule and contractor performance. The inspector and electrician have visited the site and the contractor was expected to meet with staff later in the week to review property and construction matters.
Staff also briefly discussed park fence repairs, wind-related damage to posts and temporary fixes (zip ties) and said a more durable repair could be undertaken next spring. The meeting included routine updates about pavilion rentals and pool operations.
