Council approves first 2026 budget amendment including digital reader boards

Finance Director Kristen Reed presented the second reading of Ordinance 2841, the first 2026 budget amendment, and described small changes made since the first reading.
Reed told council the amendment adds a $35,000 allocation to purchase two digital reader boards; that amount will be paid from the street fund and split between funds using the same percentage as the IT budget. Reed also reported that the amendment would reduce the Facilities Fund (Fund 35) reserve balance below the city’s reserve-policy threshold. Committee review was positive and the council voted to adopt Ordinance 2841 on second reading.
Council did not record a roll-call vote in the public transcript; the motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. Reed said staff is available to answer questions about the amendment.
