MassPort updates NTSB probe into 2014 Hanscom AFB crash; data show multiple references to a lock during takeoff roll

At the June 4 HATS meeting MassPort representative Sharon Williams summarized NTSB findings to date in the May 31, 2014 Hanscom Air Field crash investigation: the airplane did not become airborne, reached 165 knots during the takeoff roll, and records show multiple references to a gust-lock during takeoff; a final NTSB report is expected in the fall.

Sharon Williams of MassPort told the Hanscom Area Towns Committee on June 4 that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has completed the fact-finding portion of its inquiry into the May 31, 2014 crash at Hanscom Air Field and expects a final report with probable cause and safety recommendations by the fall.
