River Ridge board approves gatehouse redesign and master signage program

The River Ridge CDD on Oct. 22 authorized Bowman to retain RG Architects, P.A. as a subconsultant to redesign two gatehouses and approved Bowman Consulting Group's landscape architecture proposal for a master signage and monument replacement program.

Eric Long, PSGRC general manager, said the gatehouse work is a facelift rather than demolition and noted the main gate has been struck repeatedly; the board discussed elevations, potential flood‑zone certificate needs, a 12–18 month design and permitting schedule and booking the $62,500 design expense as a reimbursable deferred cost to be invoiced when financing is issued. District Engineer Charlie Krebs noted elevation certificates and development order construction plans may be needed.

The board voted to authorize Bowman to retain RG as a subconsultant under Bowman’s standard terms and authorized the chair to execute documents after review by counsel and the district manager. The board also approved Bowman Consulting’s proposal to replace monuments throughout the CDD and to handle design and permitting for neighborhood monument replacements, with neighborhood replacement costs charged to Pelican Sound replacement reserves.

Mr. Long said he will lead the gatehouse and neighborhood coordination and Mr. Blumenthal will serve as the board liaison for communications and monthly updates.
