Assessor Brandi Schmidt told the Floyd County Conference Board that Floyd County’s contract with EagleView limits how the county may distribute delivered aerial imagery and that she will deny a request from a surveyor for access to the county’s EagleView database.
Schmidt described the contract terms presented to the board: the county may provide hard copies of individual properties or structures, but may not fulfill bulk orders; the imagery may not be reproduced, distributed, or offered for commercial resale in any medium. Based on those license restrictions, Schmidt said she will inform the surveyor who requested the database that the county must deny the request.
No formal vote was recorded in the transcript on that decision; the action was described as an administrative determination by the Assessor’s Office during its presentation to the board.
