Council approves appropriations including $50,000 sewer master-plan grant

The Pulaski Town Council voted to approve Resolution 2025-36, which moves donations and grant funds into designated revenue and expenditure line items, including a $50,000 SIRCCAT grant directed to wastewater infrastructure planning.

Austin Painter, project manager, told the council the $50,000 grant will be used "towards a master plan, overall evaluation of all of our sewer pump stations," work he said is needed to determine next steps for repairs and upgrades. Painter said preliminary plats and boundary work on a related land disposition are also under way and that attorney review and signatures are the remaining steps for closing.

Councilmember (speaker 6) moved to approve Resolution 2025-36 "as written"; another councilmember (speaker 7) seconded the motion. The clerk conducted a roll-call vote and the motion carried.

The appropriation also includes smaller donations earmarked for special events, senior center expenditures and other operational line items. Town staff said the funds will be placed in the appropriate revenue and expenditure accounts and that the $50,000 will be used to fund planning and evaluation work to inform future capital projects.

The council did not set a project schedule in the meeting; staff said next steps include procurement of planning services and follow-up reporting to the council.
