County staff and commissioners used the July 16 meeting to share community updates: Maria reported the Riverside golf fundraiser "netted, 16,496 and some change this year," and thanked sponsors and volunteers for supporting the county college-tuition program.
Chair described a local use of the funds — using tournament proceeds to fly sisters in to attend a resident's 100th birthday — as an example of how the money has been used for community support.
Maria invited commissioners to the summer exploration program's graduation and certification event on Aug. 30 around 10 a.m.; commissioners said they would check schedules to ensure at least one member attends.
During public comment, a resident identified as Susan asked for a copy of the warming-center report distributed to municipal leaders and said she hoped to join the planned energy-audit presentations by Zoom if she is out of town; staff agreed to provide the requested materials and to post publicly shareable information about upcoming presentations.
